Questions

If someone has questions about the Scientology® religion, there are several ways to get them answered truthfully:
1. Visit the Scientology.org website. This is the official church site which has the truth about Scientology.
2. Visit the ScientologyPaloAlto.com website. This is the mission's site which gives introductory information.
3. Read a book about Scientology. I recommend Scientology: The Fundamentals of Thought which is available online at ScientologyInfo.com.
4. Come into a Church of Scientology and find out for yourself.

Wins with Beginning Scientology Services

Here are the kinds of wins that the Palo Alto Mission is producing on new Scientologists.

Roni completed two Beginning Scientology Services this week!

Her success from Introductory Dianetics Auditing: "Oh my gosh!!!! I have been able to remember things and people that I have thought were gone. I cannot express just how exciting it feels . The weight on my spirit is so light that I feel almost as though I can float on a cloud, so much unlike how I felt (overloaded and dragged down) when I first began these sessions."

Her success from the Self Analysis Book Course: "I would suggest this course to everyone, both involved in Scientology and others. My mood has been so much more positive. I am alert and aware. The memories that once haunted me are no longs so frightening or painful. I have had the most wonderful experience of remembering my mothers, of whom I have only had one memory for the past 39 years. I am feeling confident in myself and my abilities. I look forward to further Self Analysis."

Photography Seminar with Marc Silber

Marc Silber Seminar

Get to Know Your Camera

December 8th at 12:30

Marc began taking photographs in the 1960s, starting his career in photography at the legendary Peninsula School where he eagerly learned composition and darkroom skills. He took frequent trips with camera to the mountains and the coast, falling in love with the beauty and the spirit of the Sierra and the California coast. Through his images he has been able to capture the expression of the spirit, each telling a story, whether of the spirit of nature or the spirit of the individual.

Marc studied the works of masters such as Ansel Adams, the Westons and Henri Cartier-Bresson but quickly forged his own unique style and quality.

He honed his skills at the celebrated San Francisco Art Institute. Founded in 1871, the Art Institute is one of the oldest and most prestigious schools of higher education in art and photography in the United States. The Art Institute’s photography department was founded by no less than Ansel Adams and Minor White.

Silber’s work covers a full range from action shots, to candid portraits to landscapes. His series from the Sierra Madre, Mexico gives us a rare glimpse into the remote mountain region above Mazatlan, days by jeep and foot. He tells of the people being so grateful for the medical help that his project brought that he was allowed to photograph and capture their life in a completely intimate manner.

Though Marc moves through his fifth decade as a professional photographer he is still constantly exploring approaches, styles and projects.

Marc is an OT VIII and a Class VIII Auditor as well as an accomplished public speaker and loves to teach photography through his workshops and published works. Often his workshops have accompanied his exhibits, with excellent reviews.

Shown here is a photo of the carousel in the Tuileries Gardens in Paris, taken on a recent trip. To see more of Marc's work and find out more about him and his artistic philosophy, visit his website: SilberStudios.com.

The Palo Alto Mission is proud to be a donation drop off point for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

Success in Business with Scientology Administrative Tools

Rick Petersen, OT VIII and successful chiropractor, spoke at the mission on Saturday. The subject was how to use Scientology Administrative tools to make a business expand and prosper. People loved hearing Rick speak. A few comments:
"I got some data on how to start a business. Going over the non-existence formula helped me to gain certainty and actually do the next step in starting a business." LM
"I felt like I really understand business better - how to get stuff going and keep in moving and what happens if things go down and how to change it." JB

Amber brought a selectee into the SoMa Mission. Her name is Kathy and her daughter had passed away. Her daughter had been friends with Amber so when Kathy received a ticket inviting her in to watch the Introduction to Scientology DVD, she decided to give it a shot. She met with David and received an introductory session of Self Analysis auditing. She liked the auditing and signed up for a course. She told Amber that last night (after the session) was the first time in awhile that she had good dreams and that when she woke up she had a lot more energy than usual. Here is an email she sent to Amber today:
Subject: Wow!
Amber, I can't believe this. After just one session yesterday, I feel different. I'll talk to you about it sometime. I'm looking forward to going back. I feel like my body/brain is waking up and getting stimulated in ways that it hasn't been stimulated in a long time.
